2012 E70 Logic7 Amplifier substitution

I have a 2012 X5 with the upgraded stereo. It appears that the amp is toast (Rear channels and midrange are really weak). Before I open it all up and look, I did a quick check and the replacement amps for this particular set up are pretty expensive, even used on eBay. (This one is a Lear.) Since it is often pretty hard to test these amps and the problem might be with the head unit, I would love to be able to swap one in from one of my other BMWs, if possible, before forking out any money. I have an '08 E61 and 2 E93s that I can pull amps from to test. Can anyone tell me if the Lear amp in this car and the Harmon Kardon amps in my other BMWs are interchangeable? I do NOT want to go aftermarket so please don't suggest that. An alternative would be to pull the amp and send it off to somebody to test if anyone has a vendor that will test it.

Thanks for your thoughts on this.

My E90 L7 amp is not the same as my E70 L7 amp. But you can use your E90 head unit to test with your E70.

Smassey321 are you saying I can test my E70 amp by plugging it into the E90 amp location at the trunk? That would be a great way to test.

I am saying you can remove the E90 radio and plug it into the E70 to rule out the head unit.
