I don't want to bash but I have heard much better reviews about velos and I know exactly what I'm getting with my eurocharged tune alone. Although your probably 3500-5500 DA where your at which will play a difference.

Do you have a "stage 2" tune for your downpipes? Regardless I would get a dyno tune for your truck at your altitude.

Hope ya get things straightened out man. What was your trap speed?

What is your elevation? The thinner air at elevation plays a HUGE roll in making power. The turbos simply cannot move enough air to sustain increased boost to redline. We (calgary guys) are going to v box some runs. Some stock, some tuned, to carry out done comparative analysis. I ran a 13.5 stock. The elevation here us only 3300ft, but the density altitude calculation quite often puts us closer to 5000ft equivalent.

I ran 13.5 stock and 12.8 with a Velos tune. I'll have my down pipes on this week and a revised tune. (Velos high flow catted DP's). Stay tuned.

I know it makes a huge difference from sea level to our level. The air etc. Seems pretty close in regards to our times. I didn't launch properly etc. So next time I go I'll have some fun

Ive got a decent write up in one of these threads on how to launch these monsters. Ill toss it up quickly here.

M mode, TC completely off until you see the warning(not mdm), EDC in normal not sport, A/C off, radio off, and the last thing i think makes a difference, it might be small but i do run quicker, and thats to put only your running lights or halos on.

The EDC you want in normal for easier weight transfer to the rear tires.

Brake to the floor, press the gas pedal to the floor when you see the first of the 3 bulbs and let go on the 3rd. Also make sure you manually shift into 1st gear with your shifter, not the paddle shifter.

Sorry but what do you mean by first of the 3 bulbs? I always did it when the flag came up

Here's some data for you guys. Another forum member and I went out last night and did some vbox runs.
My stock 2012 X6M did the 1/4 in 13.5sec (one month ago, same test road)
Velos tuned got me a best of 12.83,
Velos tune and Velos Downpipes with race cats, ran a best of 4.37 0-60 and 12.56 in the 1/4 last night.
2013 X5M - Velos tuned, Akro full exhaust,
12.68 1/4 (stock downpipes) and 4.45sec 0-60
Keep in mind this is in 3300ft elevation, but DA is closer to 5000ft equivalent. The thin air really hurts the power here. I make 100whp more at sea level in a car that puts down 1010whp here. (Calgary AB)
Cheers

Both Vbox screen captures are from my run.

Hey, I am the guy that was at the track with the dark blue M5. Saw your run I was going to come over and see how you were launching your truck. I used to have an X5M and my best time was 12.59 on my winter tire set up. I think the DA the night you ran was in the low to mid 3000's (probably almost 4000 at the start of the night) so not good. Go to Drag Times and use their DA calculator for Budweiser Park (Name before changed to Castrol). Also if you are not brake stalling then you are going to have bad times but like others have said, don't hold for too long (there was some talk a long time ago about the ECM cutting timing for prolonged brake stalling). I also found that I had better times manually shifting and not using the paddles.

This is for if you are drag racing at the drag strip. This is a reference to the starting tree. There are 2 staging lights then it depends on the track, sometimes they drop the lights all at once other times you see first light second light then a third then its green. Always go before green if you are competitively racing.

Ive thought about trying to manually shift mine at the track. How to i brake stall without using the launch control? When i use L/C it shifts on its own and wont let me shift... i would drag out the rpms a bit more than my tune allows. I never use the paddles always the shifter i think it responds quicker when im street racing.

I finally for the first time got off of my run-flats and there is a huge difference how the truck is riding. I cant wait to take it to the strip, should be able to improve on my 12.2 on a decent day.

I'd load up the throttle as much as the brakes would hold. I'd try and stage first so when the other guy stages I'm totally ready. Usually they will trip the lights as soon as the second cars stages.

What were your settings so that launch control isnt engaged when you load up the throttle? There must be a way to not use the L/C.

Possibly stock modified turbos with garrett CHRA with billet wheels and High pressure waste gate actuators and I guessing you'll need the fuel upgrades as well but then I would shoot for 10s.
I think only PP does, and they are the only ones that I have seen to hit 120mph traps. But it cost too much $$$$.

It costs soo damn much. I believe there is a guy up in Toronto with all the PP work done but i doubt he will take it to the track. That truck seems like his pride and joy.

Im hoping the hellcat ends up in a truck or suv!!! 700hp from the factory... yes please!

Awesome pass Rob. Are you rocking a tune only? I need to improve my 60ft and get it down to yours. If I could get close to your 60ft then i should have a 12.1. Ive still been hesitant to run my 107octane tune. I was told from eurocharged that should be knocking on the door of an 11.9.

Nice Rob!

Tuningwerk is also another company that offers everything and they are in Germany. In fact their 2 series was on the front of bimmerpost for awhile. They also offer an upgraded fan and oil coolers to keep the heat at bay as well when pushing the power.

I should have been right there on mine, Rob does have downpipes installed but i dont know if he had them when he ran this. Awesome time though. Would love to get a roll race in, i think i shift better than my truck.
