Exclamation Software to activate E70 2010 Video in Motion using a CD

I have recently bought a 2010 BMW 30D M Sport and it plays DVDs, but only when the car is parked. I know that I can pay someone a bunch of cash to programme it to allow the video to play in motion.

However, I want to see if I can get this done myself before I approach someone else.

I have seen the following: dvdinmotion.com

and I saw that they just provide you with a piece of software to burn onto a CD which then is inserted into the player of the car which unlocks it. Does anyone have any idea where I can download this?

Is there any way of doing this without having to buy hardware such as ODB cables and other pieces of kit? Possible to load up into a USB flash drive and unlock it that way?

Any help on this would be really appreciated!

Massive other advantages to the OBD dongle and app use as well. Purchase is assuredly justified for any novice BMW owner.

Carly is great, but the DVD in motion resolution sucks.

So but the bullet and bought the OBD Bluetooth Dongle off Amazon - should be here today sometime. However, I realised, then you must must buy the pro app off Playstore for another 50 odd bucks to get access tot he coding stuff?

Anybody had any experience with using it? I've seen a lot of bad review on the Playstore in regards to the use etc.

No way of manually setting the resolution? Is that based on the settings from unlocking via Carly?

Do people really watch DVDs in 2017, let alone while driving?

I had it coded myself, but yet to use once in 7+ years of ownership.

I personally don't and probably won't, however, my kid will want to do something on the long trips and I don't want him faffing about with iPads - I can control what he watches and he'd have to sit in the mid-back seat with his belt on to watch it.

sure do, only because the laws don't let me text and drive anymore. Since that happened, I haven't had anything to do while driving, its crazy!

there is A LOT of negative reviews on that app. Are the people crazy, or is this app sometimes iffy? On these forums I see nothing but praise for it.

I use the carly app with my iPhone. I coded my X5M, My friend's X5M, My Friend's E46 M3, My Brothers E90 M3 & My father's X5M. The App works great in IOS at least and is a BREEZE to use compared to other coding solutions. Plus the flexibility of being able to code whenever you want or change any specific setting. Yea the app could be a little better but its the ultimate solution for people that don't want to get involved in more advanced solutions.

Just a heads up though that i only found out after trial and error, seems like there's a pretty common issue with the FRM module that wont let you could if the system detects that it has faults. Also, Idrive coding is an additional in app purchase for $10 beside the $50 app purchase

iCarly does seem to have more options, but Carista gave me what I wanted for less...DVD in Motion, remote opening and closing of the hatch via remote or in-dash button, power folding mirrors, windows up and down via remote and Euro double blinkers.
