I will try to take one - problem is the 10 spoke wheels always seem to cover up the M stickers. They look really sharp!

yes - another grey day in upstate NY. This picture also shows how it looks on KW's. I have to get it back in to drop it another inch. with the small picture size allowed by the site they don't show up very well.

I agree about dropping another inch, maybe 1.25-1.5" in the rear. Looks like it might be leaning forward a little. |

Thanks! Yes - there is supposed to be forward cant. Not sure how important it is to maintain it with the Kw's. The next time it is in, hopefully tomorrow, I will have them drop 1" front and 1.5" rear and see how things look and whether it affects the ride quality.

Looking good, can't wait to see it with the new rotors.
Btw adjusting the rear height couldn't be easier, no need to pay someone. Make sure the car is off. Just lay behind your rear wheel and look at the suspension arms. You will see the height adjuster right there bolted to the arm and sensor. Unbolt only the bottom part, adjust the height, and re install. Make sure you do the same amount of turns on each side. Based on your pic two turns might be enough. You don't need to jack up the car and the car won't collapse on you. You are simply adjusting the height of the air spring height sensor so when you turn the car back on it will lower the car. You can actually watch it lower the rear after you do this. Here is a pic of the adjusters before install. They are in the bag in the center: The front is super easy as well, but does require wheel removal. |

Hey OP, when you got these painted. Did you go to a shop that knows exactly what type of paint, the paint process and making sure that everything was properly taped off or removed (brake fluid bleeder, piston seals and pistons themselves, etc.). I only ask because I am getting mine painted and want to ensure they know what they are doing.
Thanks in advance! |

Painting was done by a professional paint shop in town. They didn't tear the calipers down - if I had gone that route I would have powder coated instead of painted. It's a professional shop that has been around forever, I know he was researching the exact formula to use that would be best for calipers. I left it in his hands. I just told him to use a couple extra coats of clear because everything having to do with brakes is so corrosive.

I still haven't got mine on yet I have been driving my X5d lately and we got a huge dump of snow so I have a stack of parts to be installed. Maybe I should get after it next week. I wouldn't mind selling my extra set of front callipers either, so I can put that money to new wheels or re-lipping my HREs
I did my rears, I painted the callipers myself since this picture I have the dimpled rotors on too. I will take a pic tomorrow

Mine took months...but I was his first set for the M, he cut the wrong ones twice and then the correct rotors were on back order.

They look awesome! Hey didn't the 2013's starting coming already finished this way? In the future could you just purchase the 2013 and put them on an older one?

Yes, you can purchase four new calipers pre-painted blue, for about 10 x what it cost me to paint the ones I have.

price it out on real OEM or other sites - it would be over 3K. Painting cost me $350.
