Cracked Water Pump

Hey Everyone.
So today i've been told that the reason of leaking coolant fluid is my water pump(again). It is over 400$
The car is 535xi 2008 year. It's second time in a year that waterpump cracked.
I cant understand what were they thinking when they made plastic WP
Now im thinking of getting Waterpump for N52 which is made of aluminium.
It is quite cheaper and i think it will last much longer.
My question is: What do you think will i be able to install Waterpump from N52 to N54 ? As far as i can see from google search the only reasonable difference between them is in electric connector.
Below you can find sample pictures of each:

How many miles are on your car. I just started getting low coolant level lights on my dash. Must be a slow leak as I haven't been able to find the source. Is this a common problem? I have 39K on a 2012 3.5xi X5.

I doubt it would bolt up to the engine block first off. The T-stat bolts to the pump, both the N52 and N54 use the same T-stat, so the t-stat should bolt to the N52 pump in your case. Third, the connector is different, so you'd have to repin a N52 connector to the N54 harness. Forth, if I'm not mistaken the N54 pump is 400 watts and the N52 is just 200 watts, which means the N52 pump probably doesn't move enough coolant to keep the N54 engine within the proper operating temperature range. And who knows if the N54 ECU even talks to the N52 pump.

All guesses on my part. I'd look for a aftermarket N54 pump that does not have a plastic impeller housing.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

N52 and n54 run way different.

So put the correct water pump, another thing check who makes the water pump for bmw and buy from the original manufacturer way cheaper.

Bmw over charge u for a STAMP.

Did the same for my ac compressor $600 at dealer made by denso stamp by bmw.

Manufacturer $350 denso i did the work for $550 and dealer was charging me $2.2k to do ac work.
