That sounds amazing! Very similar to many turbocharged V8 race cars.

Its funny to keep reading about people complaining how quite/weak sounding the X///M engine is with the stock exhaust... Little do they realize cause is the factory catalyst. Once removed the true sound of the V8 TT w/ 600+hp comes to life.

I can't wait to put my downpipes on in a few weeks.

all jokes aside I will do some regular driving speeds so you can hear idle and low revs

It's actually sounds quieter at low rpm with the akra fitted than before with SS DPs and the OEM bitch can.

The sound was very farty like since the engine was breathing more air down the OEM rear section and it sounded a little wierd to say the least.

Now at idle and low rpm, it's sounds like there are 670 Horses biting each others asses to kick out.

On pull away it settles the irritaiing flapping sound I got before (a bit like putting some cardboard in your wheel spokes as a kid to pretend you were on a Harley) and now it's sounds like a proper V8 TT

On flat out it sounds a little raspy and high pitched like a Ferris CS stradale. (I had one, so sorry of analogy is a bad one)

Stay tuned, shoot me a pm if anyone needs any assistance on this as the whole project was a first since there were no real write up on the SS DPs before I bought mine, plus the ESS 100 RON tune and finally the 5 month wait for the Akra.

No offense, but I think 670 hp may be a bit of a overestimation?

I can't see where the jump in hp occurs

Tune~ 50-60 for 100 RON
exhaust ~ 10-12
Dp's your thinking ~ 50-60?

Would love to see your beast dyno'd

Not trying to be negative, just would like to see hard numbers

This is ESS dyno of 95 RON tune and SS Cat-less DPs

I have the 100 RON tune plus the Akrapovic Evolution

Hammann makes 670 HP what they got that I don't?

Maybe AJ can chime in here?

I believe hamman may have a turbo upgrade, which would boost the hp numbers up quite a bit.

I had read that on some board somewhere

Normal tune and catless tune are different. Also the catless downpipes will throw a CEL and the ESS catless tune will sort that issue out

Check out the differences on the dyno above.

I haven't dynoed but mine has the Akrapovic rear section which is good for another 10 hp and 15 torque, plus I have tune for 100 RON which I'm sure is good for anther 10 -15 hp also and a shit house full of torque

ESS has tunes for both options as well as different fuel used

I have 2 tunes from ESS:
1. catless 95 RON
2. catless 100 RON fuel

sorry im a noob, i don't know much about that but i do know my dinan tune has gained about 50 horsepower for my x6m, i just want a new exhaust with a more agressive sound, which one do you suggest? eisenmann meisterschaft or akra?

So they use the turbo upgrade to get to 670hp, would explain why the kit is so bloody expensive. But on that note i would have thought that their kit would have made more, isn't your car making close to or 670hp without the turbo upgrade.

The car is 408kw stock and only 493kw with the Hamman kit, so thats a 85kw gain for $16,000
