Ouch about 250 dollars for trim. Though it looks pretty good.

Yes, I installed the bamboo shift nob, very straight forward. I used a flat instrument to take off the silver nob, and just clicked the new one in place. So much nicer than the bland silver nob.

Ive never seen one in CF, but Im sure you could probably just have the trim piece wrapped.
Heres a stock pic of what the piece looks like installed.

There is also "T" piece of wood that you can order for your steering wheel. I almost ordered it; however, the sales rep. from BMW of Atlanta told me that it only fits "Sport" steering wheel and will not fit standard one. Now I am thinking about replacing steering wheel as well ($700 - ouch).

Yeah, I saw that. By the time I had changed my mind that I wanted to order the sport, my X5 was already built and didnt feel like waiting another month, so I changed out the rims to 333m and Im very happy with the result. I like the sport rims, but most X5s have them and I like to be different than everyone else.
