"Wow! That is a nice body of work sir! Just curious...what is the retail cost of something like this?"

Thanks very much, I'd say about $10k + taxes. I've got about 150 real hours into the project including the brake work. My cost on the paint product was out of this world, this is a big vehicle and it soaked up a lot of materials.

"Which shop are you taking your car to? did you use the H&R links for the rear or did you buy an adjustable pair?"

I did the 1.2" H&R and the adjustable links that came in the kit. With adaptive drive it's comfy/firm when I need it. Because of the V8 the actual lowering is about 1.75"

So the wheels are together finally and on route to me! A couple of teasers...

Let me know if you will be getting rid of your winter wheels/tires once those come in. I might be interested.

Do you have a paint code/color name for the paint used on your 214 wheels?

WOW! just WOW!

I even like the OEM wheels you resprayed. If you don't mind me asking what is the color code of the paint you used, that is a good gunmetal color.

You know I spent some time thinking about upgrading to LCI stuff but the math wasn't making sense; the cost/benefit just wasn't there for me. I mean if I was going that far I could have just done the M stuff but it's still not an M. I just wanted to make it the best it could be for what it is.

Thanks for the compliments, love it or not it really stands out against other vehicles on the road. I have some quick photos I took with the wheels on but one day I will get some professional ones done.

The question for me is 'What's Next?' or do I just leave it alone...

The stock wheels were done in a bit more of a process than a color. The way we did them is spray the wheels black and clear coat them, then while the clear is still a bit tacky you apply a pigment called liquid metal. The liquid metal (also known as hyper silver) is lighty dusted on until the desired color is achieved, then we applied more clear. It's a super sweet finish but not for just anyone to try, it's a must to have some serious time with a spray gun.

Amazing work, Great job getting it all back together. That was a pretty deep disassembly. Very nice looking tape and prep work. If i thought I had someone in my area that would take that kind of time... I would do a color change.

Absolutely amazing work. Very well done.
What's next you ask? Red leather interior!!! That would be a game changer. Of course that's if you like red interior. Different strokes for different folks.
