Kidney Grille Removal - X5M
What's the secret to removing the kidney grilles? I see from the replacement units that there are a series of small plastic tabs top and bottom, but the top tabs are configured differently than the bottom ones. Advice?

Literally a 5min procedure. Simply use a small flat head screwdriver to loosen the clips. Start at the top clips. Once the top clips are unclipped, the grill will easily pop out. Installing the new one requires gentle pressure to snap into place. There are plenty of links, just google the topic and you will find previous discussions on this forum as well as others such as M5board.com.

Grille replacement - done
Chriszeh – you are correct, Sir. Piece of cake. SpaceM5 – your procedure may be applicable to the M5, but not for the X5M (the top tabs are not readily accessible). On the X5M, you release the three tabs on the bottom (press with thumb, not a screwdriver), and one on each side of the grille. Then pull the grille out from the bottom, and the top frees itself. When replacing with new, simply slide in evenly. Be sure to check to make sure that the bottom and side tabs all engage the new grille. A screwdriver may help with this endeavor.
