Picked up an 11 35D
Got a 35d about a week ago. Anyone do any tuning on the engine?
I plan on getting ecotune for it. Currently it's at the dealer having a few things done to it but I plan on getting the 214 wheels for it eventually and that will probably be all. Mine has the luxury active seats.. The sensation is pretty interesting in my bottom lol. |

Sweet... One person replied! Yay
I do know that renntech has a tune but I had ecotune on my 335d and had no issues and performance was delivered as promised. Renntech charges 1200 where ecotune is only 750. Just something to think about. What year is your x5? |

I picked up a '10 X5d about 3 weeks ago. I know Terry Burger at BMS has a tune for the X5d but not sure how good it is, but if it is anything like the Juice Box is is probably pretty damn good. I am looking into the possibility of using it.

I had the evolve tune on my 335d, I think I'm just going to do the JBD on my newly aquired x5d. I haven't heard much on the ecotune, have some links?

with the ecotune my engine put down 289whp/449wtq on a mustang dyno. I'm not sure what the stock is, as I've never dynoed it stock, but the difference in power was very noticeable. |

I've never heard of ecotune. I'll search and see if I can get it hear in VA. I was mainly considering Renntech because of their reputation. I'd also like to get rid of the DPF. Does anyone know of a tune that can get rid of the CEL that goes along with this? Is there a CEL for the DPF delete?

If you do a DPF bypass you must accompany it with a software reflash to tune out things like CEL and regeneration. I'll probably end up talking with ecotune to see if that can be done. |

Congrats on the new X!
I picked our new family hauler up in December. Love the car!!! However I'm still not sure what tune to go with. My first attention was going to wheels and tires, flares and LED coronas. The JBD is cheap but I read the mpg is not improving and limp mode can come up if the JBD is too high adjusted. I know ecutune from Europe. They never had the highest hp or torque output but were advertising with better mpg than stock. I haven't looked to much into the chip yet. Comes after the flares and bumpers are painted! Csb: I'm in Germany right now and drive a 2009 x5 30d with a AC Schnitzer tune on 18" winter tires. This single turbo is almost as fast as my stock 35d back in the states. Really impressive when I was playing with my buddy and his 2010 x5 30d stock on the autobahn up hill before. I had wife and kid on board and he had his wife with him. Up to 200 km/h I was able to make a three car gap before I had to brake for the exit. Unfortunately AC Schnitzer does not sell chips for the US 35d. |

Hey guys so I did get my computer back from the tuner. No limp modes or CEL as it was with my 335D. The car feels much livelier and the fuel economy shouldnt be affected at all. I still have to write them to see if they'll have a DPF bypass kit. They just came out with it for the 335D and there are many interested people! If you want to read more head over to the N57/M57 forum.

Tune for 2009 BMW X5 xDrive35d
I am not familiar with the topic, but I'm intrigued. Can I get this done for a 2009 BMW X5 xDrive35d? What would be the benefits?
Where can I go to get more details? |
