I want to order my beloved X6 35d from America. .direct!!
I am very upset with the local official Bimmer dealer in Romania.
Not only that I cannot buy anymore the crap they told me that the X6 35d is in stop production in Spartansburg, till March 2009, because they have loads of X6 30d unsold, and everybody here in Europe wants the best muscle diesel on the X6. .(hey, who can afford an X6 30d, ,why not pay 4000 more for the 286 BHP on the 35 D????). Please tell me folks, are there in the US showrooms enough 35d diesels left?! I want one more than an insuline injection for a diabetic poor fellow. . And it's gotta be Alpine White. . Also, I guess it's worthless to pile up a short list of options I need on my X6. . .I don't need Nav (already have a portable Sony NAV-U) and other gizmos. .beside adaptive curve lights and roof railings and running boards, and maybe the video option for reverse gear, ,I don't need many options. .Well, , ,is the sun roof really cool?! Is it worth the money? Sorry for so many reply options. Ok, then. Please suggest me local dealers in your hood that have 35d's stocked. I don't have to bother anymore what optional equipment I really need. Just let me know if any 35d Alpine White is in your area, and if the price is ok (doesn't matter the optionals) I'll get it. . Thanks a lot. . AK |

For one, X6 diesel versions are not sold in the US at this time (only 35i and 50i models are sold) and two, I don't think there is a dealer in the US that is allowed to sell you and export a vehicle out of the US.

I seriously doubt that. Sorry!! All X6 (gas or diesel) are produced in Carolina.. .So, a few diesels leak out on the US market. .I am sure there are some diesel X6 lurking in some US showrooms. .maybe one is mine.

Akraptor. While it is true all X6's are built in SC, The 3.5D is Not approved to be sold here in the states. The only 3.5 D's running around the USA are owned by BMW for testing. You will not find one at a dealership...Maybe the Canadian market has the 3.5D

Is it true that BMW stopped the production of 35d in order to sell the already produced 30d's?

You have any idea what they charge you at a BMW dealership here in Romania, for an X6 35d?!?! Let me tell you: 52,000 Euros!!!! And that for no bare model, no extra options. . .VAT excluded. With VAT it's about 10K more.

That works out to be the same price as the UK.

Same goes for the Canadian market. Currently only the 35i is available with the 50i going into production next month. No diesel versions.

European prices usually include taxes. The price in the US or Canada is always quoted before tax. The US has no federal sales tax but most states have one, so you have to add from zero to ten percent to the quoted price depending on which state you are in. Canada has a 5-percent federal tax; most provinces also have a sales tax of 4 to 8 percent on top of that. Both Canada and the US have gas guzzler taxes that may not be included in the quoted price.
However, base prices tend to be less in the US. It is partly the size of the market and partly the fact that Americans have a culture of seeking the best deal. Prices in Canada, for example, tend to be about 12 to 15 percent higher than in the US because for years the Canadian dollar was worth much less than the US dollar. Now the two currencies are more or less at par, but Canadians have become so used to paying more that they are still willing to do so. Probably the same in much of Europe. |

It's not about pollution taxes. It's about plain, abrupt, daylight robbery, Robin Hood style. The X6 is one one the less polluting cars in its category. . .

It doesn't matter we have a special tax it's 30 % extra end on the 30 % you pay another 19% tax nice to pat tax over taxes. So it's only intresting to import an occasion from Germany. A new car is the same price.
