Fair and square the X6M is faster than the new Cayenne, I reached 245kph until I had to brake hard, the Cayenne was not keeping the distance, honestly speaking the X6M is a beast!

good stuff, cayenne is really nice but doesn't have the aggressive looks of the M's

was it the turbo or new turbo s? curious how it would do against the new turbo s

X6M is faster than the standard Turbo, it would need the performance package or Turbo S to beat X6M In straight line.

That's crazy paying $190,000 for X6M in Costa Rica when you can get them new in Germany for $82K! I have 2013 X5M and 2006 M5 I paid under $80K for both. I love both cars but will never pay what people pay in Costa Rica!

I know is crazy, import duties here are 52% over CIF landed cost, and a couple of thousands more in miscellaneous expenses......also dealers make here great profit in such expensive cars, no less than 30% which is also crazy
A regular M3 coupe has a list price of $140K US dollars too.......

I bought my X6M used from the owner of the dealership and got a great deal, almost half of list with just 12K kilometers

How can the new Cayenne Turbo be cheaper than the X6M? They are way expensive here in the US....unless you are talking about the old body style 2011?

The car was brand new, but you are right, I made some research and for my own surprise the new model has a MSRP $225k US dollars, also the X6M price increased tro $210k but if you dont trade any car, you get it at $200k flat

Here is how it works here, there is only 1 dealer per brand, he can have as many branches but the owner is just 1 company. Since our market is so small, dealers have to make a good profit in order to sustain the business, I know that in the US profits per car are much much lower than here.

BMW is the #1 premium brand here, BMW change ownership just 4 years ago, they invested millions of dollars in infrastructure, and the results are starting to show up, you will have a BMW dealer close to you if you live in the East or West of San Jose with small repair shops too, if you need a bigger service, they will tow your car to the main dealership which is a huge facility in the middle of the east and west locations, for my own luck, I live within walking distance to the west dealership, so when I have to go for regular service, I walk back to my home, thats great for me at least.

Porsche in the other end is the worst selling premium brand, the owner is the former BMW owner that put BMW here in bankrupcy 6 years ago.......I heard they sell less than 50 cars per year, mostly the new Cayennes Diesel, maybe a couple of Cayenne Turbo's and maybe 1 or 2 911's......service and parts are just a nightmare, he is running the business like he did with the old BMW dealership, and is heading in the same direction.....

It's the same in Taiwan. X5M is slightly more expensive than the Turbo. My X5M cost about 200k USD, Turbo is about 190k but with options can easily top out around 270k. By the way, ML63 starts at around 230k here in Taiwan.

Just make sure you apologize to the cayenne driver - his ego will have been demolished I assure you.

It's insane how good the BMW SUVs in every way are relative to the Porsche badged SUVs . Yet the gold crest alone keeps commanding the $20k (or more) premium apples to apples....in the US anyway.

Nobody ever complemented the Touareg's handling, and the Audi Q5, while very nice in many respects, isn't a great handling vehicle either. But as soon as you put a Porsche badge on them, give em a nice exhaust note and an odd name and voila - the worlds best handling SUVs or so they say.

X6 is a beast, but beyond that an excellent riding car with great tech and interesting styling

since 99% of all X6's here are Diesel, probably he thought mine was one of them......lol.......next time I'm sure he will check how many exhaust pipes are on the rear of the X6 before pushing the accelerator.....
