I put them at about the same in terms of annoyance level. So yea, that bad.

Agree, and I was really surprised how awkward Chris Harris seems in Extra Gear. Both shows seem to be train wrecks.
I might tune in again towards the end of the season and hopefully they would have gained some semblance of a chemistry. Surprisingly, Matt is the most entertaining, on a very low bar scale. |

Definitely did not enjoy the show and agree with others about the annoying shouting. If they were going to do the Robin Reliant bit they ought to have drafted in Rowan Atkinson...
Probably will watch again in the hopes it will improve, but with the sound muted. |

The budget allow them to have cars I can't miss to watch but yeah the dudes sucked pretty bad. I prefer the U.S Top Gear hosts to be honest solely due to Tanner Faust's sick driving skills who I think would have run circles around Evans Viper while in the Z06. Overall the new U.K show beats the U.S due to the superior production and cars. I always looked forward a great deal to Jezza and co. Stale or not I liked their style for a car show.

Got a chance to watch it last night.
Extremely disappointing but I'll give it a few episodes before completely giving up on em'. Ugggh, that Top Gun segment was ridiculous, I was embarrassed for them. Hopefully the writing will improve and the hosts will have some time to gel with the show. I've never been a fan of the inane competitions they do. Clarkson and crew could occasionally pull it off and it was sometimes entertaining but now with the new UK & US TG crew it's just a bunch of monkeys humping a football. Hell US TG doesn't even bother reviewing/testing cars anymore.

I've enjoyed the US TG more this year since they have stopped testing cars. Some of the stuff they do is very stupid, but I laughed more during it then the UK TG episode from last night.

i approached the show with an open mind and tried watching it. mediocre at best. chris evans is annoying; not sure why he had to scream all of his lines. Hell, Matt leblanc was better.
And chris harris, such wasted talent.

May be in the minority here... But I am perfectly fine with the cast! The others were "annoying as fuk". I didn't want hear their constant ramblings of their personal shit and corny ass sense of humor. Sure these new folks will do some of the same. But Hammond and company were bloody annoying! (see what I did there)
Anywho, they kept the STIG so all is well. Motorweek is still my favorite "Car Show". No fluff. Just simple reviews inside and out.

I think Matt LeBlanc did pretty well. We just need a lot more of Chris Harris.

The old Top Gear, however scripted it was, felt natural (at most times). Here, it looks like they tried to get the magic back right away, but didn't:
Top Gun - stupid segment; I didn't understand the point Evading the paparazzi - clearly far too staged / orchestrated Robins - ok, so they didn't even 'try' to fix LeBlanc's car? Chris Evans is just annoying, if we're honest. I tried watching with an open mind, but quickly found myself agreeing with all of the comments made online.

It was so obvious it was scripted, but if it weren't, it'd likely be an incredibly uneventful show. The only time I felt it was truly off the cuff were the times where they almost were killed by angry mobs (US and Argentina). |

Matt, Rory, and Chris (Harris). Done.
Evans needs to be fired. Who screams for an hour? Seriously, man is like an overexcited leprechaun. I don't think he said one thing about cars the whole episode.

I think Matt Leblanc did great!!! Chris Evan's seemed to shout the whole time... maybe he is getting hearing problems from the loud cars? With more experience the hosts of Extra Gear + Matt Leblanc could actually be great.
That being said: - I think the first episode of Top Gear USA was better than this first episode - In fact the chemistry in Top Gear USA has progressed and this last season is actually pretty great and reminds me of the old Top Gear UK - They need to mix up the formula for Top Gear UK and make Matt the lead host, get rid of Chris Evans, and bring the other hosts out of Extra Gear and into Top Gear |
