Angel Eyes Change

All,

Just getting my feet wet with the x6 and wanted to inquire about options for getting rid of the ugly yellow headlight halos.

I know 1 option is the LED headlights but thats a pretty expensive upgrade. Are there other alternatives for a 2013 x6 ? What does everyone else without LEDs do ?

I am basically just looking for the closest to LED look that can be achieved without the OEM LED upgrade.

i have the lux v3, they looks great. Not as bright as the new OEM ones but bright enough. Plus they dont have that purplish hue like the new ones, im not a big fan of that anyway.

I picked up the LUX V4 from their website. With the V4 you can control the color temp so you can range from a yellow to white to blue/purple.

Install is very easy and only takes a few minutes. All you need to do is open the hood, remove the cover at the back of the headlight, unscrew the stock yellow bulb and unplug from the harness. After you unplug the stock bulb, plug in the V4 and choose your color setting. Then drop the V4 control box into the headlight and screw the new bulb in. Replace the cover on the back of the headlamp and close the hood.

The first time will take a little longer since you have never done it before. After that it will be real quick. It is a little tight trying to screw the bulb in so your hands may get a little cut up, but its an easy mod and looks better than the stock bulbs.

Good luck!

super easy, took me like 20 minutes, hardest part was getting my hands to where the bulb is. simple plug and play.

Here is what I'm using and I think they're great. And I tried the V3s, and some other crap from Lumen.

Just installed these on my X6:
http://www.umnitza.com/dtec-v7-h8-le...tt-p-6464.html

FYI, Umnitza had a super-special 3-wks ago at other BMW forums, for $100/set. I called cause the promo-code doesn't work anymore on the web. The staff, Tim K, told me they are running black-friday for $120 shipped. I asked if I can get that now, he's in the good mood maybe and said sure. So not $199 but $120 shipped.

I had the older gen H8 LED with 4 Cree XB-D LEDs(paid $80 a year ago on ebay) in my 535i, thought those were super-bright already but these are even brighter with 8 Cree XT-E LEDs.

At this point, we hit the diminishing return, cause the optics (plastic rings) inside the headlamp becoming the limitation, not to mention the outer rings always way dimmer.
If only LED headlights are more affordable.

I have LUX v3.0 available for sale. Decided to go for the full LED retrofit, have no need for these anymore. PM me if you are interested.

I just did this upgrade to my car. I had stock yellow caronas and changed them to LEDs. They look great. They are 32w. I bought them from ebay for only $75. They came in right on time and have no problems with them. To me its not worth paying $200 for daytime running lights, because
