X6 is a BEAST in the snow and cold...
Well -- we had our first big storm and now the cold...The X6 was such a BEAST! Never felt so in control - cornering, starting in snow or ice from a dead stop, cruising, you name it...Historically, I've driven RWD bimmers with snows, but X-drive with snows takes winter driving to a whole other level.
Am very happy with the Pirelli Scorpion run-flats...I was able to find a used 18" pair this summer mounted on dedicated OZ wheels...While I would have preferred 19's for aesthetic purposes, the 18's handle great in winter...

I can't wait for my winter tires to come in!! We got snowed in this morning and I did not even think about leaving with the summers on. Glad to hear that it does so well

Summer tires are meant for moderate temperatures and will turn as hard as hockey pucks when the temperature turns colder. You are putting yourself and others at risk driving on them when it's cold out. My son has a 325xi and I put Dunlop Winter Sport 3d's mounted on dedicated winter wheels for the ultimate traction...Overkill? I don't think so

I plan on putting all season tires on my X6 when it arrives in Jan. Probably Toyo Proxes 4. Hope they have it in X6 size. It's a great tire. Sticks like glue. I have it on my AMG.

Drove mine in the snow with all sesons (Mich Latitude Tour HP) and it was solid. Had worried a bit about the size of the tires, but I guess the weight and the traction control makes up for more than the size. It is a beast.
