Any news about retrofitting headlamps?

Does anyone knows something new regarding the possibility of retrofitting the headlamps for the new 2013 model?

I check with my local dealer parts dept frequently on this and there's still nothing (retrofit kit) in the system with pricing. I thought that a part number existed, but not sure if / when it'll be active.

It is already listed on the german bmw website. BMW states the prices FROM EURO 4,100 which is a lot because these prices do not include mounting. I still want those lights

That's so expensive for a pair of lights.

Hmmm.....4100 Euro (which converts to about $5200) is pretty expensive for lights. Is the part number for a "retrofit" which would include all of the special connectors, brackets, etc. In addition to an excellent installatioin, I am sure there would be some programming labor to make sure the current onboard software doesn't throw any faults.

^^ I dont think we should use USD to Euro conversion in this case
Cars and parts are priced differently across the world
I'm surprised nobody knows US pricing on LED headlights
It should be a matter of a simple call to BMW parts dept., no?
What happens if one gets damaged headlight and needs a replacement?

I am pretty sure the conversion will be under $4k USD. We already sourced the headlights themselves for a customer- they were only ~$3,200. There are a lot of other parts needed though, and we haven't found a source that will confirm which exactly are needed and which can be transferred from the OEM lights. Most notably, the controller box which is pretty pricey. Because of this, we decided it was best to wait for the official retrofit kit. We will probably set up a group buy as soon as it becomes available.

+1
I recall when I bought a retrofit kit (tail lights) for my E46 M3, one price for all parts, so is better to wait because usually a retrofit is cheaper than buying all parts separately

It is already available since August.

There is a part number (I've posted it in another thread) for retrofit kit which includes lights, necessary cables and adapters (abt 3300 EUR).

These things have to be bought separately:

- FRM3 (light module) if your car is older than 09/2010 (about200 EUR);
- Headlight washers, because these are a bit different for LED lights (about 50 EUR);

Here in Europe the shipping time is apprx 2-3 weeks.

Got quote from BMW on this, it is (at least in Europe) hillariously expensive, almost EUR 5,000 (with tax), so LUX here I come . I know this has been chewed on like million times on the forum, but please, can someone tell me again how comlex is it to put those in and how easy to take out (due to warranty hassle). Thanks!

Noooo...Dont give up

I'm sure someone from USA can send you the whole retrofit package for almost half of that when available

P.S. I installed LUX in less than 5min. Just a matter of swapping bulbs. Very easy
