2013 x5 different emissions to 2012? 30d

HI All,

My friend has a x5 2012 30d and i have the 30d 2013 version. His car is compliant with emissions and mine is not, i cannot seem to think of any difference between the years however is the exhaust size different?

Anyway to find out the difference on emissions on these two models? I cannot figure out the difference between 2013 and 2012 30d. Helppp.
