If you are lucky! I have a 2009 X5 which is an E70 frame. Mine stopped working about 3 years ago. I did some research and found out a couple of things that can cause this. One is the lift strut itself. The other is water getting on the circuit board that controls them. Well, mine was a double whammy. The board was soaked, and one of my arms did not work. I found the boards on eBay for around $60. I replaced it first, and it would go up some, but would not come down. So I looked around and found the lifts for $150 for both new. I was skeptical as they were so cheap. I just installed them today and they work great. Best of all, I didn't have to do any coding!
Lots of how too's on YouTube! |
