1. My house is haunted, so I dont want her to sleep alone
2. I hear things that arent really there on the baby monitor, so I dont use them anymore because its freaks me out.
3. She cries if I walk out her room, and it breaks my heart.
4. My house is haunted.
5. She sleeps longer when she's with me.

Ok, the way I handled this was

1. Enforce strict not-allowed-near-kid-after-bedtime policy with mommy
2. Put kid in crib, leave room, do not come back into room
3. See #1.
4. See #1.
5. Still doing #1
6. After a week, voila. No more crying and kid was in routine of self-sleeping.

This would've been done sooner but... see #1... think she was like a year and a half at the time.

Now that I'm divorced, and my kids live with me half the time, they have slept in their own beds since their first overnight at my residence (they were about 3 and 1 in ages).

I get the feeling they still sleep in mom's bed at mom's house but who knows.

This seems to be (not always, but often) a common difference between moms and dads.

That's my 2 cents. I will go back to serving popcorn now.

My first world problems are that I bought a lobster and cooked it the other day, and then realized I forgot to buy that little cracking utensil to eat the tasty bastard. Had to improvise.

I like that my baby still sleeps with me. If I ever date someone or decides she needs to sleep in her own room permanently then I'll deal with that later.

For now, she can stay in Momma's bed.

One day she's not going to want a kiss goodbye at school, one day she's going to want to hang out with her friends all day and not want Mommy anymore. Until then, I'm going to have as much time with her as possible. Even while sleeping. <3

My HISPANIC wife wouldn't take too kindly to you calling her white. She might object a bit to the neurotic part, but mostly the white

Co-sleeping, at the time, was daddy's idea so he could sleep more.

It's a short term solution to a long term problem and is going to create overly attached kids that cannot handle any kind of anxiety. i find it unfathomable that anyone would go down that route.

I always have my cupbearer try any questionable candy before hand.

when doing the brakes on my 98 Nissan last weekend, the rotors were stuck to the hubs, and these rotors do not have the holes like the originals, where you can drive a screw to get them to separate. Now I could only replace the calipers and put the old pads back in since they weren't actually worn.

Feeling a bit perturbed I took the car to the Subaru dealer and test drove a 2015 WRX Limited 6-spd manual, and liked it. So the brake job ended up costing 36k when all was said and done. I did get a $25 Citi virtual reward though for the test drive.

Ordered a couple of flower arrangements for Mom's birthday tomorrow. I told the flower shop $150-$200 would be ok. Charge shows up on my cc account for $225. Where in that aforementioned range does $225 fall?

Your mom ain't worth $25????

I know it's the fact you tell the hired help a simple range and they can't fix it, but daddy always says money can't spend itself

Mom is worth a fortune, it's the flowers that aren't. If I set a range I'm willing to spend, I expect the business will work within that range. It's not like I'm building a new house where there might be understandable cost overruns. These are flowers. Put together a couple of arrangements in the ~$80-$90 range and you'll be within budget.

(I know this is trivial and I'm mostly jesting here. I just thought I made the range pretty explicit. How tough could it be to stay within that range for flowers?)

It's another sham industry. I ordered my mom flowers, responding to the online specials etc. Suddenly, what was supposed to be $80 was soon $200 with shipping, Sat. delivery, etc. Fine. You guys may have noticed this too, FedEx and UPS no longer care when delivering to a residence, they leave electronics in the rain, at the wrong house, etc. Well my mom never got them. And she was puzzled, "How come you used to buy us a new car? The last one you got us is now almost 7 years old." Those were the mid 2000's when bonuses could support those gestures.....

Called Mom today to wish her happy b-day and she went on and on about how beautiful the flower arrangements were. I'm thinking the florist did a bang up job, so all is forgiven.

Shouldn't be, they overcharged by $75. (From memory don't remember the exact numbers). If me I ask for a credit. If no credit, I dispute. Most internet ones back out the entire transaction if you're not satisfied. My dad always took your approach, find a reason to avoid confronting the person who did wrong.... My .02

Then again you gave them a range and they took advantage

It's not called overcharging, it's called a "mistake". If anything, it's an upsell.
It's not like they sent a 100 dollar flower and charged 225. They sent the 225 and charged 225.

It's like when you call a BMW dealer and say you want to gift somebody a 328 or a 335, and they ship an M3 and you could afford it and the person to whom you shipped the car loved it.

It could be ok in a litigation to claim you asked for a 328 or 335, but does it really matter? You were up sold by 10%, and got your money's worth with an upper price range product.

Just don't do business with this shop again.

It's was $25. No big deal. I didn't insist they don't go over $200. When she asked how much I wanted to spend I just said, "I'm thinking $150, $200 for a couple of arrangements." If I wanted to really set a limit, I could have said "no more than $200."

I've dealt with this florist before and the owner is very nice. They're within walking distance of my Mom's building, so they always deliver quickly. No real complaints. As I said in my previous post, I'm just whining to have something to post in FWP. I spent $80 yesterday on another bottle of A'bunadh for my own fat ass, so what's $25 for Mom.

(And I suppose having nothing better to post in FWP thread is a FWP itself, eh?)

I thought you said you were putting a splash of something in with the A'bunadh. Seems to me you are just waving the splash bottle over the top of your full glass.
