passport hardwire help

I'm due to get my new passport 8500 x50 black series with the hardwire kit and hoping someone here can help. Looking to hardwire by tapping into the headliner above the rearview mirror and placing the detector in top left corner as im in a state that doesn't allow detectors. Anyone here do this on late model (2013 e70)? if so, any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Young.

younghno50,

Even if you get it hard-wired, which is pretty simple, surely your detector will be detectable in the top left corner?

I'm planning on driving through your state (twice) in the next week and am planning on disconnecting & hiding my radar detector (and letting my wife drive that stretch...).
