I'd take a ceramic pad all the time on my X5 when it's time to swap pads as part of normal maintenance. I don't tow anything, and for the street, it'll be perfect for the application.
So when compared to metallic/semi-metallic pads, ceramic last the longest, dust the least, AND the least harsh on rotors. Sounds like a no-brainer then, right? Why wouldn't every vehicle be equipped with these standard? I'm all for the best option, whatever it is, but trying to see both sides of the coin here too.
