Acura ZDX vs X6

Just wondering - did anyone here consider the ZDX? Even though my X6 is soon to be delivered, I am going to look at the ZDX today. It has similar features and way less to own.

Nope. Acura is considered entry level luxury. ignore the engines/performance/brakes for a moment, and compare closely the quality of the interior, the firmness of the center console area, the thickness of the door pocket plastic molding, the quality of the seats/leather, and the steering wheel.

I am not sure about the ZDX, but the MDX has 63 buttons on the center console/dash area alone, 12 on the steering wheel, plus an iDrive type controller.

Also, many options available on a BMW simply are not there in an Acura.

Also, the ZDX is considered a 4 door sports coupe. Its ride height is much like a car rather than a crossover/SUV. The 5 series GT would be more comparable in type but not class of vehicle.

You want to also check out the Honda Accord CrossTour. Same vehicle for less than the ZDX.

So yes the Acura is a cheaper alternative but you get what you pay for. If the ZDX meets your needs great.

Well I just drove it for about 15 minutes. Interior is certainly nice, but does not compare well with BMW. Cheap feeling leather, rickity plastic feel of bins and knobs. The "leather dashboard" was interesting. I laughed when I saw it. They are trying to imitate "full leather" of porsche or full merino leather in BMW.

Drive and handling were good for the money, nut the x6 is worth the $25K more that it will cost me.

Thank goodness for good women! Love the X6

You can find some pictures HERE.

Also, it was designed by a women, Michelle Christensen. And I honestly don't have a problem with that but some of the feminine characteristics show in the design ...

The ZDX is the Honda CrossTour.

The CrossTour has the Honda Accord chassis, and the ZDX has the MDX chassis.

Both ride low and car like. I would not compare them to an X6. More like a Toyota Venza.

I was surprised with how small the ZDX was inside, trunk space and rear seat were pretty terrible. The Crosstour was larger in both respects, but uglier.
