Going about 45 in the left lane, girl pulls out to turn left only about a car length in front of me. Chaos ensues.

The outside damage didn't look so bad before they took it apart; the original estimate was 'only' $15k. At least $5k of it was to fix up the inside damage from the air bags. But the impact pushed the front passenger wheel back and damaged just about everything its connected to.

Almost every person that had to inspect the car would say: that doesn't look so bad, I don't know why the air bags went off. You must have hit it exactly right. And then they hear the 45mph part...ohhhhh....

She was in a Hyundai Sonata and I demolished her front end. It looked like she was in a completely different collision.

Yes, they totaled it. She had minimum coverage so her insurance company didn't cover it all. Since I was fortunate enough to listen to my insurance agent, I had new car replacement coverage. Yay Allstate!

I have Allstate also and have always signed up for the new car replacement but always wondered if it was worth it. Now I know it is and feel good about getting it. Thanks

Thank you. The sad thing is that my son is now doing attempting to do dangerous things in the car like putting his seat belt in the wrong place or not at all or his feet on the dash because he thinks that he's now past his quota of serious accidents. 13yo's know everything of course.
