I had a question about how you took out the lower mesh. Did you push the grille in and then pull it to the side, or did you pull the grille out and pull it to the side.
I didn't change the bottom one, only the top one. After reading here about that I'll have to remove the bumper in order to change the bottom mesh, I only ordered the top one. I couldn't believe how easy it was to change the top mesh (only 1min) then I did try to pull the bottom mesh out the same way as the top one and with a little extra force of pushing one side down and then pulling it out, the bottom mesh started to coming out the the same way as the top one. The reason that you need to apply a little more force is because the bottom mesh has longer hooks (teeth) around the frame than the top one. I will change the bottom one this weekend after knowing that there is no need to remove the bumper.

Lower mesh is a real pain to change, literally my fingers/hands got a good few scrapes.

In order to change the bottom mesh trim properly and cleanly you have to remove the front bumper cover. It's actually a fairly easy job.

I did it today. It really sucked changing the lower mesh. I did it without taking the bumper off. The first thing I did was cut the mesh off the frame of the grille. Then took a pair of wire cutters and a box cutter to cut around where each clip snaps in. Once I cut around all of the clips, I cut the grill into probably 6 pieces. The grille needs to be pushed in to undo the tabs and then pulled out when you get them free. You really need to look at the new grille your putting in to see how it goes in, its really weird. At first it didn't look like the new one would fit. Just squeeze it in there, bottom first then the top, and then pull the grille backwards for it too snap in. I had to pull on the plastic of the bumper to get it to fit. Job took about 45 minutes. Really not fun, but worth the result.

Well that beats taking the bumper off, maybe next person that does this can do some in process pics. I did the remove bumper thing and would not want to do that again. But I thinking of relocating my radar detector and laser shifters so I am need to do this again.

Thanks for confirming you don't need to remove bumper.

Isn't that site just to help you locate part details/price and you then take the part number and contact your local BMW dealer to actually order it?
