Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric, good idea?

Hello. I'm looking for good all season tires for my '12 X5 and have read about the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric All Season tires. They are rated as "performance tires". In the past I have used in other cars Michelin Latitude HP tires but for the moment those are not available in my country.

Would you recommend the Goodyear ones? I don't know if the fact that those are asymmetric and "performance" tires I would compromise my safety when raining, etc. No snow in my country but sometimes heavy rain.

What I value most on my tires are how quiet they are and of course good handling and safety. Any insight?

Any Pirelli alternatives? Thank you!!!

I have had the Continental DWS on my X5 3.0si and they are a good tire, but only lasted 37k. They are a 45k tire. I had them religiously rotated by Discount every 6k. I had the warranty on them from Discount Tire, so I was comp'd $200.00 for a set of new ones. AWD eats tires. I ended up getting Goodyear Triple Tread Assurance. They are a 65-70K tire. I am thinking I might get 55k out of them, and then get another $200.00 towards a new set once these wear out. I have had them about a year now and they are holding up pretty good. The X5 is my wife's car and she drives about 25K a year, mostly HWY miles.

Very good question. Today I learnt (yes I was that ignorant) than when choosing tires not only you need to know the measures (in my case 255 55 R18) and the specs (ultra high performance gives good handling but "normal" all season tires give you more comfort) but also that for the X5 said tires need to be XL and 109H or 109V. So I finally ordered from tirerack.com this ones: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....555VR8LTHPXLN1

I've had good experiences with the Latitude Tour HP on other cars. At Tirerack these specification on this Michelin tires (255 55 R18 XL 109V) they called it Michelin Latitude Tour HP N1 (Porsche)

Guess the N1 is a Porsche standard right?
