Roof Rack system
Does anyone know of an aftermarket rack system that will fit on the roof of the X6 and is removable? The problem with what BMW offers is that you need to have the roof rails installed before getting the base support system and subsequent roof rack system, and the rails are not removable. I just don't like the look of the roof rails as a permanent fixture on the car. Snowboarding season is right around the corner, and I would like to have a solution for when more than one person is riding with me and I don't put the rear seats down.

X6 roof cannot even support grab handles to support ingress/egress.
With the sunroof mechanics also taking up room, i would be careful of installing after market racks without consulting bmw. Highspeed turns with haevy objects can torque the roof out of shape & cause sunroof leaks. I'd findout whether roof is aluminum or steel. |
