New X5's Slalom faster than a 328i?

While looking at a review on X5world.com I came upon a statement made by Road and track...

"Pumping out 355 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, the 4.8-liter V8 can push the 4,949 pound beast from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.4 seconds. All well and good in the performance sport ute segment, but as you may have guessed by my opening paragraph the X5 is even more about cornering. With xDrive AWD and tires that nearly rival a Corvette for the size of their contact patch, its no wonder the X5 will beat a 328i through the slalom. Its center of gravity has been lowered, and extensive weight-saving materials from the engine have made their way to the chassis. Like I said before, the X5 drives more like a 5-Series than a top-heavy SUV. "----

I somehow find that really really hard to believe... I have a 4.8is, whcih is plenty powerful, handles great, and even faster than the new 4.8 (4.4i replacement), but to say it slaloms faster than a 328i?

Anyone else find it hard to believe?

What does that mean? That it handles great? I would assume, but to handle better than a smaller car?

I did notice somethign though. It doesn't mention what 328 it beats. Maybe an e36? or an e92? lol...

If thats the case coming from a bare 4.8i with no suspension tuning, I can only wonder what the 4.8is replacement will conquer.

I think the comparison was probably vs a 328ix and therefore the comparison is simply grip of the non sport tires vs the monsters on the X5?
