Happy Thanksgiving

Figured I'd start this early since a lot of us will be on the road or otherwise tomorrow.

I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving. Eat a lot and watch a lot of football!

Going to get my x-large "to go" Tupperware bowl right now.

When she brought it a few years ago everyone was thinking "Wha"?

It is the masa stuff of the tamale, nice and moist, instead of traditional lumpy bread stuff. Hatch chile rice and cheese casserole too. The turkey and ham will be turkey and ham.

Listened to 2 minutes of it so far. I'm digging it!

Not cooking a turkey personally, but I might let it play in the background for awhile anyway.

+1 - family time
Sometimes it can be the most stressful.
Keep your favorite liquid close at hand.

Went down to the parents house last Friday for Thanksgiving. All of the siblings and our families live in different parts of the country, so we chose this week to all meet up and spend some time with each other. Unfortunately someone brought the flu with them.

** Don't read any more if you are eating/recently ate.

Over the next 3 days all 11 of us got it... including two young children +1 toddler (imagine how awesome that was). There aren't words to describe how much throwing up and shitting (sometimes at the same time) there was. Luckily my parents have 4 bathrooms in their house as they were all in heavy rotation.

Finally got well enough to GTFO yesterday afternoon only to drive the 4.5hrs back home in heavy rain/sleet/wind with a raging headache and some crazy body aches... but at least I'm away from the petri dish that was my parents house.

We had gone to a Thanksgiving pot-luck at my grandmother's church the night before it all went down so I couldn't even think about eating turkey/chicken/stuffing today (what I was throwing up for at least 48 hours)... So the wife and I are back at home and are grilling hamburgers and having beer instead.

Happy Thanksgiving!
