aa1075 - I did NOT get that mesasge from my CA. My 2012 X6 5.0 completed production on Tuesday April 5 and is released to transport. he said it could arrive any day after Friday ...he is at the mercy of the trucking schedule. As for holding 2012 until more 2011s are sold, I don't believe that for one minute. If you have a "sold unit" built and ready to ship, BMW will do everything possible to get it shipped and sold for $$. Besides, there are very few 2011s left in the country...go to cars.com and search for new X6s....across the USA there are only 215 units left for sale...less than 2 per state.
So looking forward to getting my new Blacksapphire/Oyster X6 5.0 ...$83k MSRP. |

likecarz - Thanks for the information! I didn't necessarily buy the reason my CA gave me for the delay in shipment but he was admittedly speculating. My X6 completed production on April 1st, 2011. I'm hoping that it's just a trucking schedule issue. Please let me know when you (or anyone else) actually receives the 2012 BMW X6.

OK....I see that Thomspon BMW in Doyestown PA recieved a 2012 and is his inventory for sale. Go to the link below. The VIN is 5UXFG8C57CLZ97043.
aa1075, My VIN is 5UXFG8C53CLZ97055 ... only 12 units after the above. My car completed April 6..and is in transport. What is your VIN? If your car was built on April 1, it should arrive any time now. SOOOO anxious to be driving my new 2012 X6! Thanks, likecarz http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national |

Should Be Here Soon
My 2012 X6 is on the truck on the way to my dealer here in PA. I'll answer any open questions once I see it next week, I hope. I guess it depends on how many stops the trucker makes between SC and eastern PA.

I just want the car already lol. At this point, I don't even care about the LED corona rings. I'll just stick a set of alpine HIDs in there just how I did in my 335. Looks fantastic !!! Received tons of compliments on them.

if you go on line to bmwusa and logon to your account, you can add/remove vehicles. You can add your X6 order for tracking....just type in your production order number. It will then pop up with the VIN...and give you the status ...which is way behind...it will probably say entering production...even though it is complete.
Let me know when you get a VIN Thanks, likecarz |

Just called the 800 number and the machine is telling me "You're vehicle is scheduled for production with no confirmed production date." I have week 16 which is next week I believe. Im a bit confused as to why it says no confirmed production date. Any ideas ?

Basically your CA will have the production week date on his system...the 800 number does not give you that information. Once production starts in W16 (they could pull it in by a week...happens often)....the 800 number will say "Your vehicle has entered production with an expected completion date of xx". Keep in mind the 800 number system is about 1 week behind...so when they tell you it entered producition...it probably is further along. the production process takes about 7 to 8 days for all steps.

I've been getting this message from the 800 number all week long:
"You're vehicle was released to a carrier and is awaiting transport to the port of exit." Anyone else getting this message? |

Once the vehicle is produced, the last message you will ever hear from the 800 number is "You're vehicle was released to a carrier and is awaiting transport to the port of exit". Once it is waiting shipment/transport, the dealer takes over the data managment process.
However, most dealers will tell you they are at the mercy of the transport company and the vehicle will show up in less than 1 week after it's released to a carrier (for East Coast shipments). Here is one for you: I just logged on to the BMW site, to track my vehicle. I ordered an X6 5.0i and I have th order /build sheet to prove it (including build week) from the dealer. The allocation was an X6 3.5 and modified to my spec for X6 5.0i. All is good. Except, on the website, it still said 3.5 and production complete...colors were right...options are right..but wrong engine size. No worries...the customer service agent confirmed an X6 5.0i was built for my production order number and VIN. However, TODAY, the website said: - Vehicle is at the Prep center ...great news! BUT, it said the vehicle is an X5 35i ...not an X^ but an X5!!!!!!! WTF!!! I called the 800 number and spoke with Elizabeth ..suggested BMW give up on the friken site! It's crap, useless, and only instills panic in the customer! LOL... I sure hope my car arrives tomorrow or Saturday! Will post pics! Likecarz |

Please comment on the steering wheel material. New paddles are there for sure, am interested if the leather on the steering wheel is softer, more M-ish (nappa or similar). If the same leather am thinking about getting the one from x6m, as the M-package wheel from the x5 does not fit.

This is a bump back to the first part of the thread, but the 800 number now reports that production on my 2012 is complete and it is awaiting release to the carrier. In my case, it shouldn't be a long trip to go across the street to the Delivery Center! I still haven't gotten a delivery date yet from them. I may have to call today and give them a nudge!
