$1000 loyalty cash?

Hi all,
I am ordering a 2012 X5d and my dealer is telling me that I have to pay for the vehicle in cash in order to qualify for the $1000 loyalty rebate. If I finance, then the only thing I would qualify for is 1%reduction in APR. What is your experience? It is nowhere on the website that the $1000 is applied to cash only purchases. TIA for your responses!

Thats wrong if you have your own financing and dont use BMWFS then its a reduction of $1,000 in vehicle price.

I financed mine through Bank of America since they had better rates. We agreed on the price an then just before I signed the paperwork SA tol me he had a surprise that would make my day. He said BMW is offering $1,000 in owner loyalty cash and then deducted it from the total purchase price. You should find another dealer if they're not working for you.

I think you are confusing "cash" (bring a briefcase with $65000 dollars) vs. using your own financing--"cash." What your CA was trying to say, was you either get an APR reduction if you use BMWFS to finance or if you find financing on your own (or bring in that briefcase) you can take advantage of the $1k.

They actually offered to find me a lower rate with a different bank, not BMWFS. I'd like to think that they are confused about loyalty cash and I will bring that up when we negotiate. I just wanted to make sure I'm correct in assuming that I can choose the APR reduction or the $1000off. Thanks!

As far as I know there are no promo's available right now other than the posted APR's and Lease Factors. No loyalty, no cca, etc.

The dealer I correct. The offer ended 1/3/12. I locked it in at the end of December. And I was able to squeeze out an extra 1% reduction in rate for a total of 2%

the promo doesn't have anything to do with whether you finance or not. You should definitely try another dealer. Candidly I'm disappointed that you were told this at a BMW dealership. In addition to the great products they make, my experience with the dealers have been very positive compared to what it was before I started buying European.
