Question RPM drop when releasing brake?

I'm not sure if this is normal, but I've experienced an annoying issue since owning my X5 and wanted to know if any others were seeing the same.

After coming to a full stop and releasing the brake to start moving again I'm seeing about a 200 rpm dip immediately after the brake is released. This also happens when the Auto H option is enabled (releasing the brake and the car remains stationary). I could understand if this were happening while pressing the brake, since the brake booster takes some power from the engine, but it's happening when I release the brake.

Is this normal, or does anyone have a clue as to what might be going on? I hate being that guy at the dealer and complaining about phantom issues may be perfectly normal, but this one just feels odd to me.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone?

Even a "nope mine doesn't do that" would be helpful.

Yeah it is strange. They don't drop off much, but it's enough to give some hesitation when starting out from a light, and is beginning to get annoying.

Taking a guess, I would look at the fuel map of the engine or transmission both of which require a dealer visit.

I have seen before when someone lifts their foot off the brake and tries to apply gas and go, it does hesitate somewhat. The reason is that the transmission is trying to engage and maybe some of the tolerances are off, or the fuel map and transmission are not is sync.

If is was the other way around rpm drop when you apply the brakes, then you would look for a vacuum leak somewhere. IMO
