Looking to purchase a CPO BMW X5 '11 xDrive35i
Hi all,
Just looking for some advice as to where to start negotiations and what is a fair price for this car. It has pretty much everything I want, except the newer angel eyes. 2011 BMW X5 xDrive35i CPO $45,000 24,000 miles Technology/Cold Weather/Convenience packages Comfort Access Thoughts? |

I just bought a 2011 BMW X5 xDrive35i, 15K miles with Technology/Cold Weather/Convenience packages, running boards, Sat radio for 40.4K.
You can replace the Angel eyes bulbs with Lux LED kits. Does the job well but not like the 2012 LED OEM. It's really not a big deal, most people won't care or know the difference. |

I checked KBB and it looks like this car is actually worth very close to what it is listed for so I'm not sure what basis I will have to negotiate lower. |

It was originally listed for 46K in change. Then there was an internet deal of 43.7. Then negotiated down to 40.4K. Deep sea blue metallic with oyster leather. Tires still had the prickly nubs on them.

That's expensive. The only thing it has going for it is the fact that is only has 24K miles and that it's CPO. Needs to be closer to $40K.

The fact that it is almost 10 months left in the year = that much ~ time left on your original warranty before converting to the CPO warranty. The 2011s are falling in value and dealers need to move them quick. Just name a price and walk out. 45K is too much especially since the 2012s will be coming off lease. Don't buy anything less that 20K miles if you can help it because (chances are) it will have greater residual value by 2016. This will help if you trade up for a brand new BMW before the 2016 CPO warranty ends.
Shop around, use the cars.com search engine and don't be afraid to shop out of state. |

Dealers get their vehicles base on auction value not KBB, therefore i would not start the negotiation base on KBB, because it is always higher than auction. I would want to know how long has it been on their lot? if more than 90 days it might be a great deal, less than 30 days you will have a lot of room to negotiate, but they will hold for more profit.

I received the unfortunate news that the car has been sold...on to the next one. Thanks for the help all. At least I was able to learn a thing or two about how much I should realistically be paying.
