X5M Wheels on X5 M-Sport with Adapters
Hello all,
I know there has been some discussion on this topic related to adapters or boring out hubs to get X5M wheels to fit on X5 hubs in the rear. I did this for winter wheels, as I did not prefer the look of my previous style 209 wheels on our M Sport. So, I ordered the custom adapters from Motorsports Tech in Sparks, NV (owner Lenny was great to deal with, recommend this source). The rear adapters are 15mm thick and fit on the 74.1mm hub and convert the hub to 72.56mm. The fit of the adapters is perfect. No slop at all. Appearance is just as good if not a little cleaner than the H&R spacers I've used previously. I've briefly got to 80mph with no vibration or noise at all. Extended wheel bolts in the rear also, by the way. Pics attached! Before, the adapter on the hub, and the new wheels and winter tires. We keep our winters on from November until May, so I had to ease the visual pain until the summers get back on. At least, we hope it will stop snowing, right? |

Looks good! Nice to know there's an option that works for the non M vehicle to run M wheels if they want.
