new X5 owner, E70 3.0 stall

Bought Wife an '09 E70 xdrive3.0. She has complained that the engine stalled and the gear box went to N. She had to try multiple times to restart, but after that all was well. Couple days later, she showed me in the garage how the car didn't start but had check engine light. It did start and operate shortly thereafter.

Have seen no Transmission lights/messages, just the stall, goes to N or will have trouble starting.

I think the battery is dying as it's the original, but not sure whether that would cause the same gremlins as my previous E39s did. If so maybe that's the culprit.

I have a BT cable that I've been using with my E90 and will shortly be testing whether I can read the codes.

Any ideas what might be causing this? Anybody care to guess what codes I will find?

Thanks,

-klb

Not sure. Have you taken it into the dealership yet? Or a local independent shop?

OK guys, my BT cable revealed the following codes:

Engine: 2A82: inlet-Vanos variable cam control test
DSC: 6E67: ACSM ECU reports drivers seat mat defective. Open circuit or short circuit Seat mat.

The 2A82 seems to be related to cam shaft position sensor and/or the vanos solenoid.

I couldn't find much on the DSC code and that description above doesn't really mean much to me. Transient?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
