Remote start

Anybody ever successfully have or installed on their own a remote car starter on their X5.

Trying to get one on the 08 BMW X5 I bought for my wife.

Python looks like they make that can be integrated with an I phone app.

Any thoughts ????

Is remote start really that important?I spoke to a BMW field engineer about this and he said that BMW does not recommend warming up a vehicle before driving it. The reason is that it wastes fuel, causes unnecessary emissions and does not warm up the drivetrain (transmission/ transfer case and Diff).
