Man that sucks! Im in Stuttgart, picking up from the Welt on the 2nd of Dec. I will keep a look out man, but like you said, it is probably out of Germany. What did the Polizei say? How about your insurance company?

My wife's friend had an X5M too, German spec. They parked their truck to get coffee in Berlin and 10 minutes later it was gone! I was telling my wife the same thing, these bad boys are hard to steal. Plus I was talking to one of the salesman last night about the GPS. Since it's American spec, the tracking device for it is aimed at North America or vice versa. I was thinking since it's a GPS, it should be global. I just didn't want to go in detail as I was getting irritated each day every time I saw an X5.

That sucks! So much for BMW Assist. I heard that the tracking GPS device is easily disabled by placing a piece of aluminum foil over the antennae.

I know It's too late but you can always track your own vehicle by adding aftermarket devices. I am not sure how well they work in Europe but you can spend a few hundred $ if you love your vehicle and add one of your own, plus monthly service charge if you want to be able to spot it using any browser.
