PDC beep is driving me nuts!

I have a 2008 with Nav, iDrive, and PDC. I've been through every single menu setting on this car and can not figure out how to lower the beep coming from PDC when I'm backing up.

Any ideas or solutions?

Not sure about the older iDrive, but it should be in the same menu as where you adjust your speaker bass, treble, balance, etc.

Or just try hitting the steering wheel volume controls during the PDC beeps.
I think that is supposed to work just like it does for the phone or stereo.

From the 2011 Owners manual....
Volume of warning tones
You can raise or lower the volume of the warning
signals, e.g. the safety belt reminder, in relation
to the entertainment sound output. The
warning tones have a specified minimum and
maximum volume that cannot be dropped
below or exceeded.
1. "Settings"
2. "Tone"
3. "Volume settings"
> "Speed volume": speed-dependent volume
control
> "PDC": volume of the PDC* signal tone
in comparison to the entertainment
sound output
> "Gong": volume of the signal tone, e.g.
for the fasten safety belt reminder, relative
to the entertainment sound output

anyone figure this out? I bypassed the factory amp and installed an aftermarket amp and now the gong, and pdc is extremely loud.

also 08 x5. there is no "volume setting" on regular hifi stereo.
