X6 M is gonna be available in 2009 & its engine would be an enhanced TT V8!

Is this a new video? Othervise nothing new.

Actually yes - the engine at high rpm sounds like 2 litre 4 cylinder

BMW will be sourcing the TT V8 to lotus for 2010 as a 500hp version , with software tweaking the current version can output the same.

must be the sound quality of the video , I drive a "normal" TT v8 X6 and at high rpm it sound like a very throaty v8.

My personal *opinion* is that this really dilutes the M name. A performance SUV? Come on, what a joke the two words don't even go together, it is an oxymoron. Is there even a niche in the market for this anymore? If there is I personally don't think it will be around for much longer. Just my 2 cents

this is also a perfect time to launch another m car... all the ms are out.. the m6/m5 are oldest... and the z4m could be due in a year or 2. Meanwhile the m5 will be due out after 2011 (2012-13ish)

If you check the X6 forum you will find there are a number of folks that have ordered the "normal" TT8 and are still waiting to get them. I ordered and waited 5 months before mine showed up , some folks have waited longer.

I had a neighbor that drove a willys jeep he was upset that the jeep wagoneer came out, "just doesn't fit with whole idea of 4x4". Times change, people change , cars change just the way it is.

There some folks that think unless it is a convertible it's not a true sports car.

The financial melt down changed the world including the car world, manufacturers will produce what will sell so they can survive. Research dollars will go where the sales dollars are.

man....gotta be the bonehead comment of the year!!!!
ya...BMW is a stupid car manufacture who creates cars that are redundant and cars that dont sell! I dont think they would build a car if they didnt think there is a market for it!!!!
how does it dilute the M name...the M is all about performance!!!

In Europe we've been building cars to orders for years whilst America builds 4,000 red ones 2,000 white ones, 6,000 V8s & 10,000 straight six's.
the Dealers wre told you got 50 of these & 20 of them, and now go sell em.
This led to overstocks of some colours and models, and at the year model change, dealers needed to heavily discount to clear their stock.

This whole Crisis has been caused by the restricted credit made available from banks because the banks made bad management & investment decisions, and don't have the money to go lending here, there & everywhere.
they are now scared of high risk loans, and that's what started scaring people into not spending.
The order books started to dry up. the production of all things is slowly cutting back, but the first products to see this affect are the cars and houses, because that's where the most of us have large credit commitments.

Govermnts now need to step in to kick start the economy with mine and your Tax dollars; theat(s OK in my book. Better that they support our jobs, and with that our futuires and homes, than spend it on tanks & bombs fighting someone elses wars.

The senite didn't want to support the Detroit 3, but they will spend Billions support Isreal fight Palestine.

I don't think this particular one has been posted on this forum yet SC. Probably posted on the sister site xbimmers.com though (I didn't check).

I saw this reported on Autoblog yesterday. It's not revealing too much more than we already know except that here instead of just strongly (admitedly very strongly) hinting at an X5/X6 M they are now coming right out and saying it in the video. I think whatever doubt there might have been left that these vehicles will be badged "M" rather than "xDrive50is" is pretty much gone (although personally I was convinced of that a while ago).

+1

I just posted the same thing in the X5 forum. But for me a performance SUV is a moot point. The trailblazer SS and SRT 8 are fun to drive. But this is too bad. It does dilute the ///M name. This will be the first (as far as I know) all wheel drive, force feed ///M car. Its kind of a shame.
