Comfort seat bolster support not engaging at start up
Anybody else have this issue? one of my favorite parts of this car with the comfort seats was when I turned the car off, the bolster supports went flat to make it easier to get in/out and when I started the car, they tightened back up like they are giving me a hug.
However, I've noticed over the past few days that they do not "hug" me when I start the car any more. I have to manually adjust them to get them back where I want them. On the flip side, they still automatically flatten out when I shut off the car. Has anybody experienced this? I'm wondering if it's something in the coding I could mess with using the Carly app or something or maybe it's a sign that the battery is on its way out? Sounds like the comfort seats-not sport seats. Perhaps you changed something in the seat memory settings.

I changed something in the AC memory settings using Carly. I hated how it wouldn't leave my climate settings as they were when I shut off the car, so I told it to remember them, but I did that many months ago. This lack of comfort seat (and you're right, sorry, comfort not sport) "hug" just started a few days ago

Did you try resetting the #1 memory?

Sorry. I'm out of ideas. It may magically reappear someday...

Mine stopped working when my battery died last week. The idrive said I needed to calibrate the seat with instructions from the owners manual which I did not have with me. I ran the seat all the way forward and back and up and down for most setting. I then reset the memory and all is working again.
Edit. Now that I think about it... I don't think this was working with my old weak battery. I just got the x5 last month so I don't have much history to go on. |

Well of course, just like that, it has worked the last two times I got in the car. Very weird. I guess I'll just monitor it. My car is going in for scheduled service in two weeks, anyway, so perhaps I'll mention it to them as something to check

Now that you mention it, I had the exact same happen but to the passenger front seat. It stopped squeezing my wife (no comments please) when I start the car, and I haven't noticed if it has come back lately or not.
In addition, my steering wheel did NOT adjust all the way up when I shut the car off a a few days in a row, some time back. 2-3 days later it came back and started adjusting again, and has been fine since. I thought I had done something. Whats up??

yeah, so go figure, three starts in a row and it worked fine, but this morning heading in to work, it did not work again. I guess I'll just mention it to the dealer. Obviously the function itself works because I can manually do it, but it's weird that as a part of memory, it's selective (hey, just like me!)
