CD changers are as dead as disco.

So seriously, does anyone roll around with CD mix tapes any more? Other than the nostalgic kick in the heart, what purpose does the 6 disc changer hold in your life? Has anyone swapped it our for something else? Is there another component out there that is the same size that we can put in?

Do the new X5M's or any "new" car for that matter come with the 6 disc changer? What about the last year E70's? Do they have changers as well???

I was also wondering if the newer LCI E70s come with a 6 Disc Changer thats inside the CD slot. I found something that's in the glove box. However I happen to have 2 CDs in the C300 and I can switch between them without taking them out. Not sure if newer E70s also have this, not thinking of trying either.
I mainly use USB as the quality is so much better than AUX, CD quality is pretty good, but thats when I want to listen to the songs my dad played in his car when I was younger and I don't seem to know the name.

Used google and I found something like this,

Just curious, what songs were you guys playing? What era of music?

I remember my alpine dvi with the 12 disc changer in the back of my 2000 Tahoe Limited. That was the good old days. I was curious to see if the disc changer was one of those options that was phased out.

I got a new MacBook Pro and it doesn't come with a cd drive. That sort of thing..

Thankfully, I don't have the CD changer. However, I do use DVDs in the center console to watch on the iDrive display, thanks to Carly.

Yes, the in dash changer is what I'm talking about.

Is the in dash 6 disc changer a DVD player?

Nope. Only in-dash CD/DVD player.
Sometimes I let kids (and wife!) watch movies on iDrive screen on road trips. Had it coded, of course.
