2011 x5 50i msport-winter tire setup?

A wee bit early to ask this question to all other msport owners but thought id give it a shot. I just traded in my m3 for this truck, has some great 215's on them, that obviously won't work up here come winter time. What is a good setup that will push the winter wheels somewhat out to the edge of the arches?

Thanks in advance!

I ran 2 sets of 20" staggered 214s one set with summer Dunlop rubber other with Pirellis for winter. Not optimal winter setup due to width, but looks good all year round. 215s for winter would be a little pushing it. You can get some non staggered 18"s and 22 spacers in all 4 corners.

I've run 275/40/20 Michelin Latitude Alpins on our factory M sport wheels during the past two winters as was recommended by Gary at Tire Rack and they've performed flawlessly. Never any troubles at all even in 6+ inches of snow. They do stretch a bit in the rear due to the wider wheel but they work great.

I run a set of Style 223M 19" wheels with Pirelli Scorpion Snow & Ice rubber. These are the standard wheels that came with the 2009 X5 M Sport Package. My summer wheels are Style 227M 20" wheels.

I have the sport package on my 2011 X5D. Would the standard 18's with a winter tire work on it or should I plan on getting spacers??

It'll work fine. Just look funny with arc extenders.

I agree. I had 18" Style 210's with all-season tires as my first Winter set up. The rear tires looked terrible without spacers, which is why I bought the Style 223M 19" set for Winter.

I just installed 210s and it looks horrible. Had to bring this thread back from the dead.

The x5 feels like it is on rails .......

Yeah, the 210s just don't look right with the M Sport Package.

I run BMW style 87 (from e53), size 20" staggered (9.5" Front and 10.5" Rear) with Falken all season 275/45-20 on both Front and Rear (that size Falken's can be mounted on 10.5" wide rims). Rears have 20mm spacers.
