Which do you like? Black or Chrome on Carbon Black?

Black ones seem to have thicker border and slightly less opening.

That looks terrible! What brand are they? Why not just go with the BMW Performance grills and leave it at that?

I know -was hoping that it would grow on me - i just went with ebay jobs to see if I liked matte black on carbon black. Listing says Spec-M and only $65 so no big loss.

are you talking about these?

I went with IND paint matched OEM performance grills and I'm extremely happy.

Those cheapo eBay special ones look like ass.

Yes, the BMW performance black kidney grille for the E70 X5 looks best. I have the chrome surround with black and just plastidipped the chrome matte black. Looks ok, but doesn't have the glossy black that the OEMs have.

Thanks all - agree that these black ones are hideous. Will order the BMW performance black ones and hope they look good glossy against Carbon Black ...

Call up IND if you want paint matched. What they sell is the OEM Performance Grill however they just paint the surrounding trim to match. Did it on mine and looks great. They also sell the paint matched side markers too so they might give you a break if you buy everything together.

To manage photos I use the photobucket app and it seems to work pretty well.
