iPod question

I do have the OEM iPod interface on my X6

When turn into the iPod option on my stereo, I see at the top of the screen that has a menu that says CD1, CD2....until CD6 ( CD1 is for example artists, CD2 is for Genre, CD3 for song names, CD4 playlists and so on.....)

But what makes me curious is that the option CD5 is not available, color is light gray like dissabled, anyone knows why ? or what it does mean ?

Also, there is any chance to see the real names like Playlists instead of CD1,2,3,4,5,6 ?

my ipod interface came as part of premium sound , it has AUX which is the ipod I have stashed in the center console. It shows all my playlists, I can scroll through all while listening. Do you have an AUX as a selection , like AM,FM,WB,CD,AUX ?

Yes I do have an Aux selection, but my interface is located inside the glovebox, and it is connected via the iPod cable,
My problem is for example when I choose to browse my iPod playlists, at the top menu does not show the title "Playlists" it shows "CD3" or whatever number......so I was wondering if there is a way to see the title correct

Check the following pictures, you will see what I meant
This is the main menu when I choose the iPOD screen, up top you will see the CD1,2,3,4,5,6 titles, there is where I want to see titles such is Playlist, Songs, Artists, etc etc.

Mine is via Y cable that came with car, your menu is different than mine.

I think you are not using the correct cable. CD1-CD6 is the old iDrive version. The X6 has the newer software/cables. The fact that CD5 is not showing sounds suspect.

Without the connectors, how are you getting the iPOD hooked up and displayed at all?

I do have the BMW OEM interface installed at the rear of the glovebox, so all you see is the black cable that connects to the iPOD like the 3rd picture I posted above

Did you have it installed after you bought the car?
I think they installed the old interface box.

The interface was given install by the dealer as a courtesy or "discount" , probably is the old one, it works great is just a matter of top titles that bother me somehow

Had mine installed by the dealer, didn't have the premium sound. Works well, be carefull with the IPOD model/version, most current don't charge. I got s touch gen 1, refurb, 32bg at the Apple store, works well.

You are right, Apple changed the firewire location like 1 year ago, so now all new iPods dont get charged, I have the first generation iPod, no worries....
