Has anyone tried installing the Bimmian guage rings on their E70???

I'm going through one hell of a long and drawn out back and forth this these guys about the fact that these do not fit the E70+ X5. The stock rings are non removable without actually taking the lens off the instrument cluster housing (which is permanently glued on)... Try to remove it and it will crack - ask me how I know. Please someone tell me you've installed these rings and if so how? I've been working on Audi's and BMW's for over 10 years maybe I'm missing something. They claim to have these rings installed on 2 E70's... One which is the presidents vehicle. Granted they are Canadian vehicles. I broke the lens on an 4.8 sport E70 here at the shop and found a replacement from Quebec (had to purchase the entire cluster) from a 3.0 E70. Exact same lens. As you can see from the pictures the stock lens and the stock rings are all one unit. There is maybe 1mm of clearance from the bottom ring from the lens.

What's so different about the Bimmian ones than stock?
