launching an X6 (non-M)
Ok whats the trick with launching the auto X6? just playing with the new toy and whilst I dont do standing starts on a regular basis it would be nice to know what the trick is and if its a transmission /driveline mashing hell to do so (probably with all that tyre grip) Note running 315x20 rears so not expecting any wheelspin in the dry..
Noticed the X5/6Ms have a launch mode to get over the auto box slurr . My one and only attempt sofar (in D mind) just results in a Looooong delay before it goes whooosh... (PS Im old enough to know better but who cares...) |

Put it in M mode and rev it to 2K while holding brakes
Let go the brakes while pushing gas pedal to the floor |

I have found that the 6 sets off in 2nd from stand still, if you want a more dramatic start push it over into sport where it uses 1st, really does the trick, but it can make you look like a dick as if you aren't expecting the sudden go when you stand on the loud pedal
