New X5 LCI (facelift) spyphotos. Up close and personal

Spyshots.nl does it again! The, soon to be a reality, LCI (facelift) of the X5 has taken the track up north for cold weather testing. This is likely the final round of testing as the car is expected to be revealed on the internet after the conclusion of the Geneva show with its official autoshow presentation in the spring of 2010.

As you can see from the photos, the changes them selves are subtle but have just the right effect of keeping the car looking fresh and sporty. The major changes are to the bumper which bring the look more in line with the X6, while retaining a unique look compared to the X6. Silver slats are seen traversing the large side brake cooling ducts, a styling feature that is becoming more and more common across the BMW lineup and in this case is very similar to the slats seen on the Z4 sDrive35is and has been projected to appear on the new X3. The rear will not see major changes, likely a change to the tailight "graphics", LED and the mild changes to the rear bumper lines and exhaust shape.

Under the hood, details are not known yet but expect to see the arrival of the N55.

I prefer the current body... but too bad I'll be missing out on the new N55 update.

I'm not impressed with the exterior LCI changes, with the exception of the LED tails. Hopefully they will be plug and play.

It is 100% sure the LCI will come with either N54 or N55....Look at the FMIC...

What is FMIC? Are you saying the X5 is going to use our N54 or the N55 engine? I thought they are for cars only. It doesn't make sense to me.

I miss the thin line LED's. I was ok with the Fat LED lines on the smaller cars because it added visual mass. But the X5/X6 are visually MASSIVE, the thin line LED's contrast that with a visual slimness...
