Anyone on Koni FSDs?

My X5 is getting up in miles, and I'd like to refresh the suspension. I've heard Bilstein HDs are harsh on the E70. Does anyone have experience with the X5/X6-specific Koni FSDs? Running a standard suspension setup and wouldn't mind a little more sportiness in the drive...just having difficulty finding someone with an X5 that's run 'em.

Anyone out there with experience with FSDs on this platform?

Have you considered the matched bilstein/spring setup from the UK?

I installed Bilstein HD's on my old suburban and yes they were harsh on stock springs

I've seen them but am not too familiar with them. If the FSDs firm up handling without sacrificing ride, I'd be interested in those...just haven't seen any reviews.

I have the Koni FSD setup on my E46 and it's fantastic.

I've read reviews about the FSDs on other BMW platforms, but with the X5 being a bit heavier (and the dampers being a lot more expensive), I'm curious to see how the X5 application is.

For comparison's sake, I had Bilstein HDs on my E83 X3, and they were just fine - not harsh at all. Folks here are saying that the E70 implementation of HDs are too harsh.

Well, the wait begins. Evidently, the E70-specific Koni FSDs are special order only, since they're such low volume. I'll report back in roughly 9 weeks.
