X6 "M" Near Production Ready

From LeftLaneNews.Short of the front and rear fascia's,wheel arches, and "M" gills...looks pretty close to showroom ready. Also sporting brand new "M" only rims.Still sounds like a V10/V12 to me.I got a good listen this time, they ran many high speed laps the day I took this pic.More pic's and vids to follow! Thanks! PalBay http://www.leftlanenews.com/bmw-x6-m.html

Palbay have you heard a normal 50i throttled up? reason I ask is considering how heavy the car is putting a v10 or v12 would seem not the best route to go. Since BMW is subbing the TTV8 for the 2010 lotus tuned to 500hp seems like tuning the tt8 would make more sense, adding that much weight to the front would change the handling dynamics.

Oh yea....I've heard that 50i exhaust note 100's of times over the last couple of years. The engine in the X "M"'s probably are tweaked TTV8's...maybe the exhaust note has been tuned to sound like a V10/V12....which is pretty easy to accomplish.BMW has left just enough suspense in this engine choice to keep us tuned in.....I guess that's the point!!!! Thanks! PalBay

Another thing to keep in mind is that the exhaust on this M version is somewhat different than the 'regular' TTV8 powered 50i model (e.g. the M style dual exhausts at the rear)!

On another note (no pun intended here ), is it just me or does the M version of the X6 look like it is somewhat lower than the standard X6?

To me it looks like there is less space in the wheel arches above the tires on Palbay's picture with the new style rims.

BTW, I like the looks of those rims... just wonder what size they are and what rubber they used on the M version

It will be interesting to see the final tail pipe design. The 5.0 pipes may actually look nicer the the M version. I am not sure the dual pipes look right for the vehicle.

I think the best looking exhaust pipes on any of the different X6 models I have seen so far are the ones on the pre production version of the X6 hybrid. They look VERY similar to the 50i, however they are located just a little closer to the middle of the car. In my opinion, it makes the back end (especially the bumper part) look a LOT nicer. I find that the exhaust pipes on the 50i are just a little too far into the corner of the bumper.... Don't get me wrong, I still think the 50i's exhaust pipes look absolutely AWESOME!

Maybe Palbay can post a picture of the back end of one of those X6 hybrids he sees around the track, so that you can see what I am talking about

wheel still too small. X6 is so fat looking that needs at least 21'' and up wheel to make it look right.

Kind of hard to tell , could be the angle or maybe the camera lens.

According to Autobild, the M version would still be based upon the 4.4i biturbo...
Sound can be tweaked by the exhaust pipes..

If this information is true, I can imagine that tuners will offer similar 'upgrade packages' for the Xdrive 50i

550 hp according to Autobild..
Just wondering what the performance would be ..

0-60mph in about 4.5 sec ? (just a wild, probably over-optimistic guess..)
