wash/wax combination

I am looking for guidance on car care. I have a 2005 Black X3 and a 2012 Platinum Grey X5, and I plan to keep them for a long time. I live in Oregon where it rains extensively, and I do take them on long road trips and hiking trips and.

Is there a recommended car wash/wax combination that will work well over time that will protect the paint without abrasives? I also need guidance in how to take care of the lower external black plastic panels of the X3.

Any recommendations?

No wash/ wax is going to be a proper substitute for waxing a car after cleaning, but they will help protect a bit longer. Just don't use dish soap or something as they take away protection by being harsh and not designed for auto use, especially on a black vehicle! As for the plastic there are a few products such as back to black (can't remember who makes it) sold at auto stores made to fix the fading and protect.

ONR. Clay. Polish (if needed). Opti Coat 2.0.

Done.

Thank you for the answer and I am sorry, I should have been more specific. I am fine using a car wash to wash the car and a separate wax to finish it. I prefer to wax it twice per year.

So let me phrase correctly my request: Is there a good car wash and a good car wax that will work well to keep my X3 and X5 looking like new for many years?

ONR for washing. Once you've cleaned the paint...clay it. Once it's clayed apply Opti Coat for sealant.

All you have to do going forward after that is continue to ONR the car when it's dirty and your paint will look great for years. The Opti Coat will protect your paint for life.
