Help with bulbs
Hi Folks,
Im new here, just bought a 2011 X5. Seems like the previous owner had maybe an HID or an LED bulbs installed in the fog lights as both bulbs were missing.. thinking he took it off before sale. I am trying to find the type of bulb and wattage i need to buy for the fog lights. please recommend anything better then stock in halogen but a bit brighter. Also i notice that the led lights on the license plate both turn on when i start the vehicle but starts flickering after 15- 20 seconds and then one of them will only stay on …. any idea or fix? Thanks. |

Replace license plate lights, they are faulty.
As for fog bulbs, I believe they are H11 sized. So you can get really anything at your local autoparts store that fits that. Don't bother with "blue," lights or really anything over 65W. See if you can find Osram all season H11's. But they also make white versions too. I like the All season for the yellow look

I put GP-Thunder II 7500K H11 Xenon Light Bulb 55W White SGP75-H11 in mine, like the color matching the headlights much better than having the yellowish look to them.
As far as the flicker on the other bulbs, well I'd guess they are LED and not CANBUS compatable.. Harry |
